Billy Ray Bradsher

Raleigh – After a brief illness, Billy Ray was released from his earthly struggles on December 23, 2014. He was born December 31, 1935 to Willie Lee Bradsher and Nannie Mae Washington Bradsher. Billy was married to the late Barbara Ann Franklin for 56 years. He specialized in pipefitting, welding and industrial HVAC; working for several triangle companies and later owned BR Bradsher, Inc. Billy was a gifted jack-of-all-trades for his family, friends and neighbors; always coming up with a solution for a problem. Though small in stature, he had a large presence during his life. Left to cherish their time with Dad, Granddaddy and PaPa are his children Sandra Horton and husband Tony, Timothy Bradsher and wife Susan; grandchildren Jennifer Wert and husband Brian, Travis Bradsher, David Horton and wife Brandi and Claire Bradsher. Billy was blessed with two great-granddaughters, Katie and Emily Wert. Billy is also survived by siblings John Bradsher, Minnie Pepper and Janie Prichard. We thank the Rex Hospital MSICU nurses and staff and Transitions LifeCare for all the skilled care and comfort given Dad during this time. Visitation will be Saturday, December 27th from 12:00-1:30 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Rd., Raleigh. Funeral service will follow at 1:30 pm. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery immediately following the service.
