Bobbetta Elliott Bradley

December 7, 1948 — November 16, 2021

RALEIGH – Bobbetta Elliott Bradley, 72, passed away at home in the morning hours of Tuesday, November 16, 2021, with her family by her side. Bobbetta was born in New Albany, Indiana on December 7, 1948, the daughter of the late Charles Edward Elliott and Frances Emma Stone Elliott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Bradley. Bobbetta, better known as “Mom” to her family, leaves behind to cherish her memory a loving family which includes her daughter, Kate Bradley; sons, Marvin Stewart and wife, Titikan, Wayne Stewart and wife, Sabrina, Lawrence D. Bradley; grandchildren, Jessica, Michelle, and Sophia; sisters, Janice Pellien and husband, Charles, Julia Nelson; nieces, Lisa and husband, Manny, Amy and husband, Luis, Elizabeth, and Rebecca; great-nieces, Amanda, Maddie, Hailey, and Julia; and her great-nephew, Brett Charles. Mom was so special - she lived life to the fullest, always happy and positive, and always wearing a huge smile on her face. Mom was kind, caring and only saw the positives in every situation presented to her. She was fun, feisty but also very soft-hearted. Mom fought so hard for so long, always remaining positive and cheerful - even through all her pain. Mom was loved so much by everyone and she made sure her love for others was even bigger! She loved her family and friends with a passion and wasn’t afraid to let others know it! Her laughter was so genuine and so contagious, you couldn’t help but laugh along with her – truly a beautiful person inside-and-out. Music was everything to mom and it didn’t matter what kind of music it was; she loved it all! Mom believed music made the world a better place; it had no color and it always brought everyone together. Miami Carol City High School’s “Songs to Remember” was just one way she loved to show her love for music and to keep in touch with all her friends. Mom’s love for her family, her friends, her music group, and her caregivers is what got her through her 16-month battle with cancer. Mom’s caregivers: Dee, Theresa and Esperanza meant the world to mom – she loved and adored all of them for the countless hours they spent taking care of her with pure love and compassion, listening to her and helping her with whatever she needed. Mom was very blessed to have such beautiful souls loving and caring for her around the clock when she needed it the most. We miss mom so much and will forever love her. She left us all with such beautiful, happy memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives! Mom’s funeral services will be Monday, November 22, 2021, with visitation and viewing beginning at 1:00 PM and funeral services beginning at 2:00 PM at Bryan Lee Funeral Home, located at 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, NC 27604, immediately followed by her burial at Historic Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh, NC.
