Bobbie Strickland Satterfield

Bobbie Strickland Satterfield, 62, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, went to be with the Lord on July 16, 2013. She died peacefully in her sleep. Born in Dunn, NC of parents Ollie Bob and Sue Strickland she lived most of her life in Dunn, White Lake, and the last three years in Raleigh. Upon graduation from Dunn High School in 1968, she attended dental hygienist school. She worked many years as an assistant in her mothers business (Sues Fashion Furs) and held other positions in the Dunn area. Her most cherished role was being a mother and homemaker. She was a devoted member for many years of Stoney Run and Savannah Hill churches in Dunn, where she served as youth leader, Sunday school teacher, and in other areas of Christian ministry. She most enjoyed entertaining and spending time with her family. Playing with her grandsons brought a huge smile to her face. She was a warm and deeply caring woman who had so much love to share. She possessed an ease that welcomed all into her house and made everyone feel as if they were home. Many were drawn to her as friend and confidant. Bobbie Sues family and friends will miss her dearly- but our comfort comes in knowing she walks well with Jesus now and all her questions have been answered. The comfort and love she gave us can be felt and shared by so many. Bobbie is survived by her son Lei Satterfield and wife Leslie of Raleigh; her grandsons Colby and Camden Satterfield; her brother Buddy Strickland and wife Toni of White Lake. She leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, other dear family members, other friends and her ex-husband Michael Lee Satterfield. The family will receive friends at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Garner on Friday from 6 to 8.
