Bobby Byrd

GARNER - Bobby Byrd, beloved husband, father, Papa and Great Papa went home to be with the Lord and Savior on March 26, 2022 at age 85 surrounded by his girls. Bobby Byrd was born in Buies Creek, NC on May 19, 1936 to Herman and Claudie Byrd. He was a graduate of Buies Creek High School in 1955. Soon after he moved to Garner, NC to pursue his public service duties as a Garner Policeman and a Garner Volunteer Firefighter. While residing in Garner, he met the love of his life, the late Barbara Ann Pumphrey. The two were married March 2, 1958 and together they raised four beautiful daughters, Loretta, Lynn, Leslie and Leigh. They were happily married until his beloved Barbara was called home to be with our Lord and Savior in 1999. Several years later, he was fortunate to find his second love and married Lilli Cooper, welcoming her three daughters, Donna, Sandra and Tonya. Daddy is survived by eleven beautiful grandbabies, whom he adored, Bobby Deryl, Courtney Lee, Kyle Lee, Dylan Clay, Lauren Ashleigh, Cody Glen, Lacy Barbara-Ann, Justin Bobby, Nicholas, Jeffrey and Jennifer. He also is survived by three beautiful great-grandbabies, Blayden MaKenzie, Jayden and Savannah. He is proceeded in death by his mother and father, his wife Barbara, brother Billy, daughter Loretta and grandson Nicholas.
