Garner-Bobby Ray Belvin, 88, passed away on Friday August 9, 2024. He was the son of late, Lonnie Green Belvin, and Iola Poole Belvin. He was the oldest of six children.
Bobby grew up on a farm in Wake County. After finishing high school, he joined the US Navy and served as a radarman on the USS Talladega. Bobby was an agent with the ATF and then retired from the NC Board of Pharmacy.
Bobby was married to his high school sweetheart, Bobbie Jean Chappell, for 68 years. He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He loved fishing, cooking and eating… He just loved life. He was a big jokester, so never a dull moment. He was a friend to all.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Bobbie Jean Belvin; son, Mark Belvin and wife, Gail; brothers, Larry Belvin and wife, Judy, Danny Belvin and his wife, Donna; sisters, Peggy Moore and Betty Belvin; grandchildren, Matt Belvin and wife, Stephanie, Courtney and husband, Steven; two great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Sheila Chappell.
Along with his parents, Bobby was predeceased by his son, Steven Belvin; and brother, Jimmy Belvin.
A service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 13th at Ebenezer Methodist Church 6020 Rock Quarry Road #210 Raleigh, NC 27610. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at church. A burial will take place at Pinecrest Memorial Park 12830 US 70 Business HWY W Clayton, NC 27520.
