RALEIGH - Bruce Edward (Eddie) Parker was born March 25, 1927 and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 23, 2017. Mr. Parker was a quiet, gentle man, who always saw the best in everyone he met. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He always had a heart for children and young people, serving through the years as a Sunday School teacher, missions leader, scoutmaster and baseball coach. As a social stationery engraver and the founder of Parker’s Engraving Company, he engraved stationery for President Ronald Reagan, decades of governors, many law firms and pharmaceutical corporations, as well as the social stationery and wedding invitations for generations of Raleigh families; his skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail were sought from Raleigh to Europe. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lois Herring Parker, a daughter, Stephanie Lynn Parker Mills and husband, Reverend Richard Mills, and a son, Stephen Emerson Parker and wife, Carla Evans Parker, grandchildren, Katie Petro, Audrey Wiggs and husband, Brian, Heath Emerson Parker and Hannah Elise Parker, and great grandchildren Emory and Elizabeth Petro, Asher and Logan Wiggs. He was preceded in death by great grandson, Zachary Wiggs. Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 25th, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2100 Noble Road, Raleigh, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am and funeral to follow at 11:00 am, burial will immediately follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 South Wilmington Street, Raleigh. Donations can be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mr. Parker’s memory.
