Bruce Raymond Barmes

Garner - Bruce Raymond Barmes, 84, went to be with our Lord on Saturday surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Vincennes, Indiana to the late Raymond C. and Esther Sannaman Barmes. He was preceded in death by his son, Steve Barmes. Bruce served in the Air Force in 1947 until 1949 and he played professional baseball from 1950 until 1960. He retired in 1991 from Martin Marietta. *** Due to inclemate weather, the memorial service has been moved to Thursday at 2:00pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel, Garner. Family will receive family and friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.*** He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara York Barmes and his children, Judy Barmes Rucker (Joe) of Garner, NC and Brian J. Barmes of Davidson, NC; six grandsons and three great grandchildren.
