Callie Macon Sauls

Raleigh – Callie Macon Ray Sauls, 97, went to her heavenly home on March 27, 2023. She was born March 28, 1925, to Callie Minda Nipper Ray and Otho Claire Ray, in the Bayleaf area of Raleigh, North Carolina.

Callie met Jack Sauls on a blind date while she was attending Campbell Business School. He was the love of her life and family was very important to both of them. Callie loved her family and especially her two grandchildren. She simply cherished spending time with them. She loved her Sunday School class and was active in her church during her lifetime. She treasured her many friendships, she loved flowers and gardening, and sharing her flowers with others. Callie will be extremely missed by her family and all those who loved her, but we are blessed because we will see her again one day.

The family of Callie will be receiving friends and family Friday, March 31, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. until 12:50 p.m. at Bryan Lee Funeral Home, Garner, NC. Her funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., March 31, in the Chapel of Bryan Lee, Garner. A burial will be held at Montlawn Memorial Park at a later time.

Callie is survived by her daughter, Minda Sauls Ray (Marc); grandchildren, Michael Ray (Caitriona Kinsella) and Melissa Ray (Daniel Coor and Jase). In addition to her parents, Callie is predeceased by her loving husband, Jack, and her brothers: Marl, Carlyle, Jerry, Duncan; and her sister, Rachel.
