ANGIER- Carl “Carlie Bill” R. Johnson, 86, passed away on Monday at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington. A native of Johnston County, he was the son of the late Frank and Lula Johnson. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 28th at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. The burial will follow in the Johnson Family Cemetery, Angier. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-2:45 PM at the funeral home. Carlie Bill is survived by his daughter, Darlene Matthews of Angier; sons, Randall Johnson and wife, Sherian of Angier, Ronnie Johnson and wife, Sue of Raleigh, Donald Johnson of Bowman, GA; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Johnson of Angier; grandchildren, Lucy, Steven, William, Christopher, Kelly, Barry, Tony, Maggie, Molly and Travis; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, Glen Johnson of Angier. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Ruth “Marie” Williams Johnson; sons, Alton “Goody” Dale Johnson, Kenneth Johnson; sister, Eunice Adams; and brothers, Hoover Johnson, Curtis Johnson and Frank Johnson.
