Carl Eugene Haag

November 4, 1935 — August 24, 2024

Carl Eugene Haag went to be with our Lord and Savior on August 24, 2024.

Carl was born on November 4, 1935, in Sweetwater, Oklahoma to Eugene Rother and Alta Florence Haag. He was the third of 3 children and grew up on the family farm. He graduated with honors from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma.

After graduation, Carl accepted a job as chemist with Phillips Petroleum. He worked there for 30 years and retired in 1985 at the age of 50. He served in the US Army National Guard and was honorably discharged.

Carl met the love of his life at Calvary Baptist Church in Borger, TX. He married Iona Marie Price on September 20, 1958. Carl loved and adored Iona. Whenever you saw Carl, Iona was always by his side, all through their nearly 66 years of marriage.

Carl loved his Savior. He was an ordained deacon, he and Iona spent their retirement years doing volunteer mission work with various organizations in the US and around the world.

Carl also loved his family above everything else. He always enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids, and was such a good example of a Godly man, husband, father, and grandfather.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents and his brother John Haag and John’s wife Wanda.

He is survived by his wife Iona; his children Carla Marie Green (Rodney), Stephen Eugene Haag (Pam) and Jerry Travis Haag (Christi); his grandchildren Stephen Green (Nikki), Ben Haag (Maddie), Darian Haag, Brady Haag (Katie), Abigail Green, Trevor Haag, Katrina Haag, and Alexis Haag; and his sister, Mary H. Lester.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Community of Hope Ministries (601 St Marys St, Garner, NC 27529), or One More Child (1015 Sikes Blvd. Lakeland, FL 33815).
