Carl Poole

Raleigh – Carl Poole passed away peacefully on February 6th, 2017, at his residence with his family at his side. Carl was born in Raleigh on February 7th 1929 to the late Mamie Poole Mangum and Alzer Poole. Carl was proud to have served in the US Navy from 1946 – 1948. He retired from Dorothea Dix after 33 years, was a member of RGA and played golf regularly until the past years due to his health issues. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Jessie Howell Poole; his beloved children, daughter: Linda Poole Ablecop; sons:  Carl Poole Jr. and wife Connie; Michael Poole and wife Cindy; David Poole and wife Amy. Also surviving him, his sister Geraldine Parrish; his eleven grandchildren: Blair Poole and wife Michele, Brooke Baker and spouse Brian, Dana Calvacante and spouse Brenner, Jessica Albecop and boyfriend Christian Bell, Tracy Migdal, Mary Welch and spouse Matt, Angela Champion, Timmy Poole, Barry Byrd and wife Susan, Sabrina Carpenter and spouse Tim, and Brenda Poole; along with 22 Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Poole, a great grandson, Jaetyn Ablecop Hester and sister, Alice Poole McGraw. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Heartland Hospice for their loving care and concern to Mr. Poole. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Charity of one’s choice. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 12:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service beginning at 11:00 am -12:00 pm at the funeral home.
