Carleen Jackson Barefoot

Raleigh - Carleen Jackson Barefoot, 95 passed and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 18, 2012. Graveside services will be held Monday May 21, 2012, at 12:00 PM at Montlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Bryan Lee Funeral Home, Garner, NC. Carleen was born August 12, 1916, in Sampson County, North Carolina. She spent her childhood and early adult years in Sampson County. She was a member of Harnett Primitive Baptist Church. She owned and operated Westover Beauty Salon in Raleigh, North Carolina for 28 years. A loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Barefoot was a sweet, kind and gracious lady and will be deeply missed by her family, extended family and many close friends. She was proceeded in death by her husband Thomas Weston Barefoot, her brothers Badie Jackson, Dewey Jackson, Alma Jackson, Cooper Jackson, Deemes Jackson and OB Jackson; her sisters Victoria Sinclair, Lora Reynolds, Zora Spell and Clida Jackson. She will be sadly missed by her daughters Nancy Faye Gerstenberger and her husband Bob of Macon, Georgia; Ava Elizabeth Harris and husband Mac of Supply, North Carolina; grandchildren John West Gerstenberger (Andrea) of Atlanta, Ga; Tiffany G. Andrews (Mike) of Juliette, Georgia; Morgan McKoy (Kevin) of Wilmington, North Carolina; and Merrit Lumsden (Danny) of Raleigh, North Carolina; and four great grandchildren Ava Grace, Harris, Eli and Morgan; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be made in honor of Carleen Barefoot to Pine Pointe Hospice of Central Georgia, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia.
