Carlton Lamar Jones, Jr.

Carlton Lamar Jones Jr., age 70, passed away on September 7, 2018 surrounded by his family, after a long battle with cancer. Lamar is the son of the late Carlton Lamar Jones and Maybelle Vick Jones of Raleigh. Lamar was a Vietnam Veteran of the US Air Force. He shall be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, husband and friend. Lamar is preceded in death by his brother Gary Jones. He is survived by his wife, Angela Jones; sisters, Darlene Johnson and Brenda Ellis; sons, Christopher Jones, Derek Jones; daughters, Amanda Muentnich, Melissa Jones; step daughter Elaine Raynor; stepson, Jeremy Strickland and 11 grandchildren. Lamar enjoyed working in his garden and spending time with his children, grandchildren, sister Darlene and niece Beth. He appreciated nature and spent much time walking, fishing, finding arrowheads and looking for other historical artifacts. He was a devoted friend to many and will be missed. A memorial service will be held 6:00 PM Tuesday, September 11 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. A short visitation immediately will follow after service.
