Carol Sims

Carol Sims, 74, passed away Wednesday April 25, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family, following a 2-year battle with cancer. Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother sister and friend. Carol was a Real Estate agent for Fonville-Morisey for many years and was very well known not only for real estate but for her selfless dedication to the community by her involvement with the Garner Chamber of Commerce, the Garner Rotary Club, and as a school and church volunteer. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00-8:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Along with her parents; George Wilson and Pauline “Polly” Wilson Shoemaker, Carol was preceded in death by a sister, Becky Walker. Carol is survived by her husband of 55 years Andy Sims; sons; Tad Sims and wife Whitney, Tommy Sims and wife Angela and Tim Sims and wife Michelle; sisters, Debbie Shoemaker and husband Russ Maynard and Lynn Shoemaker and husband Sandy Younce; brothers, George Wilson and wife Wendy, John Wilson, Tim Wilson and wife Shannon and Ken Shoemaker and wife Roni; eight grandchildren, Morgan Wright and husband Jeremy, Drew, Brayden, Hunter, Ashton, Camden, Preston and Sawyer Sims and one great-grandson on the way.
