Raleigh -Surrounded by her loving family, Carole Shugart Crews of Raleigh passed away peacefully on Sunday after a long courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.Carole was the owner and manager of Auto Insurance Center of Raleigh for 25 years and retired in 2009. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 AM at Providence Baptist Church, 6339 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh.Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park. Carole is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Cindy and John Hofeditz, Joy and Dan Pike, Karen and Danny Vaughan; a son and his wife, Lawrence and Natalie Crews; two brothers and their wives, Bill and Betty Shugart, Jimmy and Eileen Shugart; grandchildren, Joe, Brad, Kelly, Taylor, Jackson, Noah, Sierra, and Kendall and great-grandchildren, Matt, Julia, Sarah and Lucy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas H. and Frances L. Shugart; granddaughter, Amanda Hofeditz; sister, Bonnie Shugart; brother, Tommy Shugart; and 2 loving dogs, Lucky and Hailey. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh. Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to Hospice of Wake County, SPCA of Wake County or Providence Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at The Oaks at Mayview for the great care they gave to CC over the last 2 years.
