Carolyn H. Boykin

GARNER - Carolyn Faye Hamrick Boykin, 84, passed away on January 1, 2025, after a difficult battle with vascular dementia. She was born in Wake County, North Carolina, on April 19, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Stanley Glenn Hamrick and Corinna Mae Sears.

Carolyn was an exceptional mother, grandmother, and friend. Her laugh was as contagious as her smile was bright. The thing she was most fond of was her family, her love and commitment to her family was something to admire and was reflected in all that she did. She will be remembered fondly by her family and friends as a woman of great strength and conviction.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Melvin Boykin; son, Tommy Sears; and brother, Gettis Hamrick, all of whom she loved very dearly.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Tony Boykin; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Mary Sears.

A funeral service will be held at 10:45 AM on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529. Burial will follow after the service at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27603. The family will receive friends for a period of visitation from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home.
