Cecil Carrwell Johnson

GARNER - Cecil Carrwell Johnson, 79, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday. He worked with Rogers Oil Co. for 24 years where he served as Vice President. Later he worked with his dear friend, Forrest Ball at Hartwell Realty as a real estate broker for 25 years. A native of Johnston Co., he was the son of the late Henry and Sarah Stephenson Johnson. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Garner. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. Surviving: his wife of 58 years, Phyllis Layton Johnson; son, Derrick D. Johnson of Angier; daughters, Sharon J. Wiggins and her husband, Claude of Goldsboro and Donna J. Bailey and her husband Donnie of Garner; grandchildren, Joshua Johnson and his wife, Laura of Garner, Kristina Horton and her husband, Cy of Raleigh, Jenny Wiggins of Elizabeth City, Trey Bailey and his wife, Alex of Garner, Amy Bailey and Brett Bailey, both of Garner; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Tommy, and Joey Johnson, all of Garner; sisters, Doris J. Newton of Willow Spring, Lee J. Langdon and her husband, Bobby of Benson, Patricia J. McGill of Angier and Janie J. Butler and her husband, Emil of Independence, VA. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Lavon Johnson. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Garner, 601 St. Marys St., Garner, NC.
