Charles Albert Koehler, Jr.

APRIL 15, 1921 - JANUARY 11, 2012 Raleigh - Charles Albert Koehler Jr., 90, passed away January 11, 2012. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 11AM at Bryan Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Rd. Raleigh NC 27604. Burial will follow at the Historic Oakwood Cemetery. Charles was born to the late Charles and Kittie Davis Koehler. Charles was born and raised in Cario, Illinois and attended the University of Illinois. He served in World War II as a 1st Lieutenant in the European Theater. Charles attended Law School at Tulane and worked at Shell Oil Co. in New Orleans, LA and Houston, TX. He fulfilled a lifelong dream in owning the Dixiana Circus, bringing joy to many. He then became Vise President of Jacintoport for Louisiana Land and Exploration Co. in New Orleans, LA. He was very active in the Berean Bible Church in New Orleans, serving in multiple capacities.Charles is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ruby OQuinn; daughter, Kittie Rakovan and husband, Daniel of Raleigh; and grandson, Evan Charles Rakovan of Raleigh.
