Charles “Charlie” Ray Brown

Charles Ray Brown (Charlie) passed away peacefully, on February 17, 2021. Charlie was an avid race fan and enjoyed attending races at Wake County Speedway with his sons. He owned and ran Charlie Brown’s Transmissions in Raleigh for 35 years where he made many friends and acquaintances. Charlie Brown was loved by many. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at 12PM, in the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529. A viewing will be held from 10:30-11:45 at the funeral home. The burial will be at Lafayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville. Charlie is survived by his sons, Ricky Brown, of Garner, Robi Brown (Joanne), of Willow Spring, and Scott Collins (Kelly), of Statesville; sisters, Peggy Amato (Chuck), of Raleigh and Ellen Hursey (Ricky), of Rolesville; brother, Eddie Brown (Connie), of Zebulon; and his loving grandchildren, Hannah and Damon Brown, of Willow Spring, Aaron Brown, of Wilmington, and McKinley and Campbell Collins, of Statesville. Charlie is preceded in death by his wife, Jaqueline Collins Brown (Jackie); brother, Robert Brown; sisters, Charlotte Brown Hawks and Barbara Ann Barbour; and parents, Robert Brown and Imogene Dingler Brown.
