Charles “Chuckles” Sawyer

GARNER, NC – Charles “Chuckles” Sawyer passed away at Kindred Hospital, Greensboro, NC Sunday morning, June 3, 2018, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident on Oct. 4, 2017. He fought a long and courageous battle with his loving family at his side. Born June 15, 1940 in Harpersfield, NY, he was the eldest of three children born to the late Charles and Naomi Kellum Sawyer. At his request, there will be no funeral, but there will be a “Celebration of his Life” later in the summer. Chuckles graduated from Oneonta Senior High School, Oneonta, NY and the certification program for Production Management at Rochester Institute of Technology; an accomplishment of which he was very proud. He is survived by his much loved wife, Andrea; son, Brian and wife, Stacy; sisters, Teenia Christensen and Toni Sines; step-sister, Maryanne Champlin and husband, Craig; several grand and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as his especially beloved dogs, Thor and Baxter. In addition to his parents and much loved grandmother, Louise, he was preceded in death by his son, Shane.
