Charles E. Young

Charles E. Young, 78 passed away June 3, 2014 after an extended illness. Charles was a Retired Sergeant Major from the N.C. National Guard after more than 30 years of proud service to his country, after graduating from Hugh Morson High School. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday at Catawba Springs Christian Church, Apex. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; Isham Woodrow and Mabel Ruth Young, and two sisters, Annie Jean Jefferys and Gloria Young Burgett. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Patricia Burgess Young; daughter, LeAnne M. Young; son, Charles L. Young and wife Carol Ann; sister, Carolyn Hall and husband George; granddaughter, Tamara Young; one niece, five nephews, 11 great nieces and nephews and several great great nieces and nephews. In addition, Charles’ family extended to his National Guard, church, high school and beach friends. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.
