Charles Eugene Vance

RALEIGH – Charles “Gene” Vance, 81, passed away Monday, February 13, 2023, at UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh.

A native of Mitchell County, Gene was born on April 14, 1941 to the late Leonard Vance and Winnie Marie (Sullins) Vance. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Smith; sons, Gene Vance, Jr., and Curtis Vance; and by his brother; Johnny Wayne.

He is survived by his wife, Alanda “Landie” Adcock Vance; daughter, Ashley Vance Fowler and husband, Scotty; step-daughter, Chrystal Noelle Young; step-son, Carlton Robin Young and wife, Ashley; sister, Dorothy Vance; brother, Dennis Vance; half-brother, Oran Sullins; 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; and his canine companions, Kayleigh and Heidi.

A visitation will be held at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home starting at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, February 21st, 2023. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM in the Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel in Garner, with a procession to Montlawn Memorial Park.
