Willow Spring - Charles Oliver Strickland, 69, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, surrounded by his family.A service celebrating his life and homegoing will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church, 1701 Bud Lipscomb Road, Willow Springss. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Fellowship Baptist Church and at other times at the home of Charles and Linda.A private family burial will be held in the church cemetery.Charles worked for the United States Postal Service for more than thirty years before retiring. He was currently employed with Hendrick Toyota of Apex. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church for over forty years where he taught Sunday School, served as a Trustee and most recently as Head Usher. Charles was actively involved with the Gideons International for over twenty five years. He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Joy Daubenspeck and husband Phil; son, David Strickland and wife, Dana; grandsons, Jacob and Kyle Daubenspeck and granddaughters, Abigal and Lindsay Strickland; sisters, Evelyn Hale and husband, Don and Betty Smith and husband, Bobby.He was predeceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Elsie Strickland, brother Robert Strickland, infant daughter, Virginia Grace Strickland, and infant grandchildren, Sara, Olivia and Connor Daubenspeck.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideons International, P.
