GARNER- Devoted and beloved father, Charles F. Parker, 88, died Sunday, January 29, 2012 after a brief illness. Charles was born on April 18, 1923 to the late Caddie and Willis Parker of Beaulaville, NC. He was married to the late Jan E. Parker of Wallace, NC.Charles was a driver for Greyhound Bus Lines for 36 years and remained retired for one year before working another seventeen years for Hertz Car Rentals. He served two years in the Navy from 1943-1945 when he was stationed on a ship in the Pacific Ocean during World War II. Charles loved his home, his family, and his wife of nearly 40 years and will be remembered by many for his loving nature and his willingness to always lend a helpful hand. He is survived by his son, Charles Ellis Parker and wife, Martha, and daughters, PaulaStell and husband, Charlie, Gwynn Swinson, and Carla Parker. He is also survived by five grandchildren, C. E. Parker and wife Tammy, Hugh Parker and wife, Dawn, Melanie Price, Carmen Young and husband, Jason, Brandi Hamad and husband, Amin, and seven great-grandchildren.Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, January 31 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home; 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 1 at the Bryan-Lee Chapel. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Garner Advent Christian Church at P.O.
