Charles Roy Carroll

Charles Roy Carroll passed away Friday at his home. A native of the Cleveland Community of Johnston County, Charles was born to the late William L. and Annie Hobby Carroll. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1952 and served two years in the US Army. He was also a graduate of Craven Community College. Charles lived in New Bern for more than fifty years working as a field representative in Eastern North Carolina for Sinclair Refining Co. and BP Oil Corporation. He met Nancy Lea Harris in New Bern and they married November 23, 1968. They shared their lives together for more than 52 years. He was a member of Berne Masonic Lodge and Trinity United Methodist Church. A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Mount Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, 15772 NC 50 N., Garner, NC 27529. Charles is survived by his wife, Dr. Nancy Harris Carroll; sister, Christine Carroll Faison, of Austell, GA; nieces, Karen Faison, of Smyrna, GA, Teresa Lavoy (Fred), of Cary, NC, Sheila Hoskins (Forrest), of Grand Junction, CO; nephew, Stan Faison (Sandi), of Houston, TX; 4 great nieces; 1 great nephew; and 1 great great nephew.
