Charles Wayne Satterfield

RALEIGH – Charles Wayne Satterfield, 66, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022, following a period of declining health.

He was born in Harnett County on March 22, 1956, the son of the late Ida Mae and Charles Satterfield. Wayne spent most of his career teaching math at Hobbton High School in Newton Grove, NC. He later worked in the IT department of Sampson County School District. One of the many joys was meeting former students who expressed appreciation for getting them into math as a career.

Wayne is survived by his loving spouse, Paul Cobb; sister, Barbara Myatt and husband, Al; brother, Dennis Satterfield and wife, Deborah; his feline companions, Calindore and Annabelle; and a host of extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Monday, December 19, 2022, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Raleigh. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, in the Chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Raleigh. Burial will follow in Historic Oakwood Cemetery, Raleigh.
