Charlotte Ann Thomas

Charlotte H. Thomas of Raleigh,NC, age 74, passed on November 18, 2021 at UNC REX Hospital. Born on August 9,1947 in Amarillo,TX. She is the beloved Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Loyd D. Hunter of Charlotte, NC. Mrs.Thomas was preceded in death by her Husband, Edward M. Thomas. She is survived by her Daughter, Kara M. Barber and her husband Terry. Her Son, Travis H. Mellott and his wife April, both of Fuquay Varina. Mrs. Thomas has five beloved grandchildren, Logan D. Wood, Rebecca K. Duke, Hunter O. Mellott, Ethan L. Mellott and Violet A. Mellott. She was actively involved in the lives of each of her beloved grandchildren. There are other surviving relatives in Maryland and Texas. Mrs. Thomas is a graduate of Kings Business College in Charlotte. She moved to Chapel Hill, NC in the late 1960’s; where she was employed with UNC Hospital OB/GYN. Following this, she was an employee at Orange Federal Savings & Loan, Chapel Hill, NC. Mrs. Thomas retired while working for Wells Fargo Advisors, Raleigh, NC in 2011. Mrs. Thomas had a love for dogs, Newfoundland’s were her favorite, as she had several throughout her life. She was a member of The Southeastern Newfoundland Club during the 1990’s. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting Wreaths and making/designing Seashell Lamps. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 6-8pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Garner, NC to honor their Mother’s Life.
