Charlotte Reasons Carrere, age 88, of Raleigh, North Carolina passed away on June 5, 2021. She was born in Buckhorn, Arkansas on June 24, 1932 to Walter and Mabel Reasons and grew up in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Charlotte and her husband, Jim, raised their family of 7 children in Goldsboro, North Carolina. After Jim retired, they moved to Raleigh, North Carolina where Charlotte could more easily pursue her passion for genealogy. Charlotte had a sharp mind right up to her last days - reading, studying genealogical lines, and participating in a daily family group text. She was a member of Daughters of American Revolution; United Daughters of The Confederacy; The Huguenot Society of South Carolina; and The National Institute On Genealogical Research. Charlotte was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Charlotte is survived by her children Matthew Carrere (Debbie); Michelle Riggleman, Pam Webb, Stephanie Eaddy (Blake), and Carla Niemann (Patrick); 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren; her sister, Patricia Cheney, brother, Walter Reasons Jr. and many nieces and nephews. Charlotte was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, James Maynard Carrere; her son, Calvin Drew Carrere; her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Carrere Surprenant; her grandson, Lee Andre Maheu; and her sisters, Louise Dell and Mamie Wethington. A burial service will be held on October 21, 2021 at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Goldsboro, North Carolina.
