Charlotte Reid Frye

Charlotte Gasser Frye went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at age 83, surrounded by her family. Charlotte was born in Richmond, Virginia on Oct 9, 1938, to Charles and Kathryn Gasser. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Richmond, Virginia in 1957. She was a legal secretary for the Asst. Attorney General of Virginia. She met her husband, Lacy Frye in 1968 while taking a communications course. They married 8 months later and have been married for 53 years. Charlotte was the first person that he led to the Lord. One year after they got married the Lord led Lacy to leave the business world and go to seminary to be a pastor. They relocated to Chattanooga, Tennessee, where they both attended Tennessee Temple University. She had 3 children: Becky (Robert), David (Tana), and Debbie, and 6 grandchildren: Savannah, Landon, Anna, Micah, Sarah and Malachi, and her favorite grand dog Harley. She was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn, and her parents, Charles and Kathryn Gasser. She is survived by her husband Lacy, her 3 children, and 6 grandchildren. Charlotte served faithfully alongside Lacy as a Pastor’s wife and stay at home mother for 52 years. She devoted her life to God and her family. She was known for being a prayer warrior, and a faithful gospel witness for Christ. Charlotte loved nature. She loved birds, especially cardinals and eagles, dogwood trees, flowers, and dogs. It would shock most people to know that she was a roller coaster enthusiast. She loved going to the mountains during the fall to see the leaves and get apples. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the Holy Land, and loved singing in the choir at church. Today she is rejoicing in the presence of God, and walking on the streets of gold in a new body. A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 3:00 PM at Calvary Raleigh Church. Burial will be held privately at a later date. The family will receive friends following the service at the Church on Sunday.
