Charlotte Wilson Hampton

Charlotte Wilson Hampton, 80, passed on June 27, 2020, surrounded by her family. Charlotte was born November 14, 1939 to the late Charlie and Glennie Cartwright Wilson. She was always a very positive and encouraging person and made everyone around her feel good. She loved to be well dressed and look great whether at the grocery store or out for a nice dinner with her family. She was an avid gardener and just loved to be outside. She was an animal lover and would usually rename your dog so it was more like her own. She also loved music and two of her favorites were Alan Jackson and Elvis Presley, both of which she was fortunate enough to see in concert. Memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at 2pm, in the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel, 1200 Benson Road Garner, NC 27529. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. The family has requested that if you would please wear a mask to the service to help allow for the safety and protection of all those in attendance. Charlotte is survived by her children, Lucindy “Cindy” Hampton Nobling, William “Jake” Lyle Hampton, and Denise Hampton Barton; grandchildren, Virginia Phillips and husband, John Michael, Jacob Hampton and wife, Ashley, Ashley Hutchinson and husband, Rich, Crystal Higgins and husband, Matthew, David Parker, and Matthew Barton; Great Grandchildren, Katherine, Morgan, and Laura Phillips, Preston, Landon, and Norah Hampton, Liam and Addie Grace Hutchinson, Jackson, Patrick, Lily, and Cora Higgins; siblings, Billy Wilson, Henry Wilson, and Betty Lou Byrum; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, William B. Hampton; daughter, Alma Glen Parker; and a sister Audrey Colson. In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to make donations to Woodville Baptist Church, 143 Woodville Road, Hertford, NC 27944, where she and her family were longtime members.
