Cheryl Ann Ward

Cheryl Ann Ward, 67, passed away on 11 November 2023, at her home in Garner, NC.

She was the daughter of Donald Ward and Margaret “Joan” Ward, and was born in Toronto, ON on 30 April 1956. The family moved to Hialeah, FL in 1957. They lived in Florida until 1978, when they moved to Cary, NC. Cheryl was a Garner, NC resident since 1991. She became a US citizen in 2018.

Cheryl attended Hialeah High School (Hialeah, FL), and 2 years at Covenant College (Lookout Mountain, TN). She became a Certified Medical Assistant and worked at Garner Internal Medicine from 2002 until she retired in 2018.

Like her mother and father, Cheryl excelled at many different hobbies and crafts, including painting, stained glass art, knitting, wool art, book binding, chainmail, jewelry, gourd decoration, and genealogy. She knitted for the charities Knitted Knockers and On The Mend.

Her dogs were her close companions and the loves of her life. She showed shelties and border collies for agility and obedience, and won many awards with them.

Cheryl’s parents both passed in 2018. She is survived by her brother Alan Ward, sister-in-law Lisa Ward, and niece Karen Ward.

A memorial picnic will be held in her honor in March.
