Christine J. Gay

Raleigh – Christine Syvonne Jackson Gay, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on February 21, 2021. Born on December 31, 1933, in Raleigh, North Carolina, she was the fifth of six children to Della G. Jackson and James H. Jackson. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Mrs. Gay was a longtime member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina where she dedicated her life in service to her God, her church, and her church family for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband Luther H. Gay, siblings Catherine J. Ruth, John Jackson, Helen J. Hayes, Dorothy J. Gupton, and Golda J. Edwards. She is survived by her three children Steve Gay, wife Karen of Garner, NC, Kim Barbour, husband John of Raleigh, and Dwayne Gay of Raleigh, and her grandchildren Matthew, Sarah, Caitlyn, and Caroline. Graveside services will be held at Montlawn Memorial Park on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 3:00 PM.
