Christine Landrum

RALEIGH - Christine “Chris” Ferguson Landrum, 91, of Raleigh, North Carolina, went to be with her loving Lord on April 3rd, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones. Chris was born on August 15th, 1930 in Winston-Salem, NC where she spent her formative years and graduated from Gray High School in 1948. She and her sister were a part of youth and young adult activities at Ardmore Baptist Church. Chris worked as the secretary to the Administrator for Baptist Hospital (WFU) in Winston-Salem for 12 years. In November of 1965 after marrying the love of her life, Harold, they moved to Raleigh, NC where they spent almost 52 years by each other’s side. As a loving wife and mother, Chris lived for her family and was actively involved as a supporter of all of her children’s interests. She was an active member of Forest Hills Baptist Church for 57 years, where she sang in the choir, worked with the children in the nursery, and was a beloved member of the Harmony Fidelis SS class. Chris is survived by her two children, Beth Landrum Breedlove (Michael) of Creedmoor, NC and Mark Landrum (Susan) of Winston-Salem, NC. She had four grandchildren, Alan Chandler of Brooklyn, NY, Hannah Chandler of Saint Louis, MO, and Lydia and Anna Landrum of Winston-Salem, NC. Chris was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harold Landrum, her parents and her sister Charlotte. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation for the loving and compassionate care that was given to Chris and the entire family, by the staff of 5West and Heart and Vascular 7th at UNC Rex Hospital. Flowers are welcome or Memorial contributions may be made to the UNC Rex Foundation for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; or to the Wake Forest Baptist Health Brenner Children’s Hospital. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, April 7th from 6-8 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Rd., Raleigh 27604. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 8th at 11:00 am at Forest Hills Baptist Church, 201 Dixie Trail, Raleigh 27607. A graveside service will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh 27612. The family has requested to fill the service with the colors of spring and celebrate the beauty of this season.
