Christine Pleasant

ANGIER - Mabel Christine Pleasant, age 92, of Angier, died Friday the 26thof October.She was the daughter of the late Marion Benton and Julia Langdon Pleasant. She was preceded in death by siblings Gladys Langdon, Leola Lassiter, Maxine Denning, Rachel Peterson, M.B. Pleasant, Jr. and Willard Pleasant. Christine, or Chrick to family and friends, was a dedicated member of Angier United Methodist Church. She was known for the delicious baked goods and meticulously handmade crafts that she generously donated year after year to the churchs annual bazaar. Many will also remember her from The Pleasant Shop, a womens clothing store in Angier, which she and her sister, Maxine, owned for several years. More recently, Christine could be found briskly walking the halls or enjoying a game of bingo at Oak Hill Living Center, where she happily resided for the last five years of her life. Christine is survived by her sister, Sue Ogburn of Angier; her brother, Joe Pleasant and his wife Wilmar of Angier; her sister, Doris Barnes and her husband Jack of Linden; her sister-in-law, Hazel Pleasant of Fuquay-Varina; her niece, Jan Denning Garver and her husband Bob of Kingsport, TN, along with their children, Maxine Poole and Campbell Garver; and many other beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2012, at Angier United Methodist Church. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall for family and friends.
