Christopher "Chris" Matthew Bodde

Christopher “Chris” Matthew Bodde, 41, passed away unexpectedly on January 21, 2022. A native of Hickory, NC, Chris was born May 1, 1980 to Greg and Susan Bodde. He grew up in Florida before returning to North Carolina. Chris, who was an excellent chef, treated his family and friends to delicious gourmet meals and barbeque off the grill or from the smoker. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and camping and headed to the beach or the mountains as often as possible. Chris and his wife, Robyn, harvested copious amounts of vegetables from their well-tended garden. He was a huge animal lover from the time he was young and held a special bond with the 3 dogs and 2 cats he leaves behind. He was a generous soul who was always willing to help others. More than anything, he loved Robyn, his daughter Sayge, and his entire family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022, at 6:00 PM at the Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel in Garner. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. The family will have a private interment. Chris is survived by his wife, Robyn Johnson Bodde; daughter, Sayge Bancroft; parents, Greg Bodde, Susan Farmer and her husband, Mike Farmer; sisters, Terrel Farmer and Amanda Bodde; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
