Morrisville, NC – Cindy Yost, 61, passed away Friday morning, February 25, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer. She was loved by her sons, siblings, father, and extended family. Cindy was born in Huntsville, AL and grew up in Slidell, LA. She graduated from Tara High School in Baton Rouge, LA and went on to LA Tech University in Ruston, LA where she received her Bachelor of Science in accounting in 1982. She moved multiple times for her family and career, beginning with Dallas, TX, following with Huntington Beach, CA, Atlanta, GA, Jacksonville, FL, and settling finally in the Raleigh area where she lived for the past 20 years. Cindy earned her CPA license in the state of Georgia and, later, her FPAC certification for FP&A. She leaves behind a successful career in corporate finance and accounting. Traveling across the country and even once to Paris to race in 5K, 10K, and half marathon events with friends and family, Cindy was an avid runner and proudly displayed her medals from these events. She enjoyed crafting gifts for friends and family, regularly repurposing wine corks, sewing, and crocheting personalized items. Cindy loved the sci-fi, mystery, and crime genres and could be found spending much of her free time reading books, watching TV and movies, or listening to audiobooks and podcasts in those spaces. Always close by, her favorite candies to snack on were M&M’s, Red Hots, and Necco Wafers. Cindy was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Stephens Smith, and her brother, Scott Edward Little. She is survived by her sons, Ryan Yost and Nicholas Yost, father, Dewey Little, sister, Terri Ballard and husband Shane, their children, Catherine, Emily, and Zachary, brother, Jerry and wife Leslie, and their children, Bailey and Davis. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She will be sorely missed as a mother, daughter, sister, friend, and colleague. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, March 2 at the Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel in Garner. A visitation will follow.
