Claire F. Small

Claire F. Small, 83 died peacefully at the Spring Arbor facility in Cary, NC on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 after a very long battle with Dementia. Born in Boston, MA; she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mariah (Dalton) Kelly. Claire leaves behind her devoted husband of 66 years, Frank W. Small Sr. and her beloved children, Linda C. Plante and her husband Gary of Raleigh, NC, Frank W. Small Jr. of Framingham, MA, Stephen W. Small of Brookfield, MA, Joseph L. Small of Worcester, MA. She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Claire is predeceased by her siblings: Patricia Smith, Mary Kelly, Catherine “Kitty” Kear, William “Harpo” Kelly, George Kelly and Joseph “Dodo” Kelly. Special mention to dear friends, Joseph and Diane Mancini of Smithfield, NC. In her earlier years, Claire had worked at Federal Glass and Mirror and for the Carpenters Union. She had a talent for crocheting and ceramics. She was also a member of the Collie Rescue League of New England, fostering Collies and volunteering at events and fundraisers.
