Claire Rousseau Grzebien

Claire 81, passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday April 2, 2017. Born in Milford MA and raised in Woonsocket RI, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Imelda (Savard) Filosa and Napoleon and Bertha (Savard) Rousseau. Moving to Raleigh in 1954, she immediately embraced her new Southern home, becoming involved in her church and working for NC State Banking Commission and the NC Department of Revenue from which she retired. She exuded energy and warmth and never met a stranger. She lived simply and loved simply. Her Faith in God, love of homemaking, all-embracing love for her family and friends and her altruistic nature were the essence of her life and how she will always be remembered. She is survived by her children Michael (Jacqueline) and Christina (Daniel); grandchildren Saoirse, Matthew (Connie) and Joseph (Lauren); and greatgrandchildren Clara and Sumner. A Memorial Reception will be held Saturday from 3-4pm in Glenaire’s Multi- Purpose Room, Glenhope Ct, Cary. Funeral Mass will be held Monday 11am at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2718 Overbrook Dr, Raleigh NC 27608, with Inurnment in the church columbarium. A reception will follow in the Fallon Center. The family wishes to extend grateful appreciation, love and thanks to her caregivers at Glenaire, and to the staff at Heartland.
