Clara Adrian (Ranck) Jackson

Clara Adrian (Ranck) Jackson, age 98, of Fort Pierce, Florida and most recently of Willow Springs, North Carolina passed away on December 31, 2024. She was born February 16, 1926, to Clarence S. Ranck & Olive May (Nichols) Ranck, in Columbus, Ohio. On August 4, 1946, she married her one true love and husband of 72 years, John Franklin "Frank" Jackson, who preceded her in death, along with her parents; sister, Dorotha Elizabeth (Ranck) Marcum; sister, Eleanor Adella (Ranck) Marcum; and great-grandson, Foster Caleb Westberry. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Westberry; son, Kenneth Jackson; daughter, Rebecca Sink; as well as 6 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Clara was born and spent her childhood in Columbus, Ohio where she graduated from high school in 1944. On August 4, 1946, she married her high school sweetheart, Frank Jackson and enjoyed a whirlwind 2,800 mile honeymoon trip. She worked at Nationwide Insurance Company until 1948, when she become a full-time homemaker, upon the birth of her first child. After making multiple moves, the family settled in Fort Pierce, Florida in 1958. In Fort Pierce, she remained solely focused on raising her children until 1972 when she began assisting Frank with the operation of their local Western Auto franchise in Port St. Lucie, Florida until they sold the business in 1979 and Frank subsequently retired in 1980.
Clara loved to travel with Frank, beginning with their 2,800-mile honeymoon road trip and over the course of their 72 years of marriage visited all 48 of the lower contiguous United States, Alaska and Canada in their RV, along with a 40th anniversary trip to Hawaii and a 50th anniversary trip to China.
Throughout retirement, Clara and Frank made multiple trips to visit family, and brought their grandchildren on many camping and travel adventures. In addition to traveling, she also enjoyed cooking, sewing and reading daily devotions.
Clara is remembered by her family and friends as incredibly frugal and someone who never met a stranger.
A viewing will be held on Friday, January 3 at 5:00PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Angier, North Carolina, followed by a funeral service at 6:00PM.
