ANGIER - Clarence Billy C. Adams, Jr, 79, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday. Born and raised in Harnett County, he was the son of the late Clarence C. Adams, Sr. and Lilla Young Adams. He was a graduate of AngierHigh School, a past deacon and past superintendent of Sunday School at ChalybeateSpringsBaptistChurch and Past Master of the Angier Masonic Lodge. Mr. Adams was also a veteran of the US Navy and a retired car carrier for Anchor Motor Freight, and farmer. He was predeceased by his sister Maxine Campbell and brother Curtis Adams.He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Frances H. Adams, daughters, Del A. Smith of Angier, and Susan G. Adams of Garner; grandchildren, Christy G. Sutton and husband, Chris of Greenville and Bret S. Smith of Cary and great-granddaughter, Marissa Sugartoes Sutton; sisters, Edith Currin, Faye Jones, Hilda Lee and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier and at other times at the home. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Greene and Rev. Max Eller officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.The family wishes to thank the many friends for the outpouring of love and deeds during this time of loss.Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of NC, 514 Daniels St. # 109, Raleigh, NC 27604.
