Clifford Suter Bennett

Clifford S. Bennett (Cliff), 85 of Raleigh went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023. Cliff was born in Alameda, California. He was the son of the late Robert P. Bennett, Sr. and Doris Reichenbach Bennett. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Peggy Harwell Bennett. He had two children, Teresa Bennett Stephens and Clifford S. Bennett, Jr., three grandchildren, Morgan Louise Stephens, Cameron Russell Stephens, Jr., and Azalee Mae Bennett, a sister, Kathryn Bennett Caddell (Buzz) of Fuquay Varina, a brother-in-law, Robert Harwell (Carolyn) of Greenville, S.C. and many nieces, nephews and cousins whom he thought the world of. He was a very active member of Forest Hills Baptist Church and Hayes Barton Baptist Church. He started an Intergenerational Sunday School Class (Amazing Grace) at Hayes Barton. He was a deacon, Sunday School Teacher, worked with BTU and many committees during his work for the church.

Graveside Service will be held for family members at 11:00 am on Tuesday, Feb 28, 2023 at Raleigh Memorial Park, Raleigh, N.C. The family would like to thank Rex Hospital doctors and nurses and Dr. Diez and the nurses and staff at Transitional Life Care on Trinity Road in Raleigh. Bryan Lee Funeral Home in Raleigh, 831 Wake Forest Road, will assist in the service.

In the spring a Celebration of Life will be planned at Hayes Barton Baptist Church for family and friends.

Contributions may be made to Hayes Barton Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
