Clinton "Earl" Jones, Jr.

Raleigh – Clinton “Earl” Jones, Jr., 64, of Raleigh, passed away on September 4, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Earl was born on February 18, 1960, in Muskegon MI. He was the son of the late Clinton Earl Jones, Sr. and Jean McLamb Jones. Earls’ childhood years were in Richmond VA. He then settled in Greensboro NC area, later settling in Raleigh NC. Earl started his career in geotechnical engineering, before working as a manager at Pepsi, and for Instacart Corporation, finally retiring after years of dedicated service.

He was an Eagle Scout and loved serving as a scout leader. Earl loved the outdoors, camping, campfires, and working on the family bus/camper conversion. The entire family was involved and to Earl, that was quality time together. He used comedy and his witty intellect to keep his friends and family light-hearted and laughing. Earl loved music, NC State Wolfpack (his beloved Alma mater), Carolina Panthers, computers, and gaming, but his family was the love of his life.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 1PM, at Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral, 715 Nazareth Street Raleigh, NC 27606. The family is also planning a celebration of his life at a later date.

Earl is survived by his wife, Nicole Lynn Bruce; his children, Casey Jones and wife, Amber, Zach Jones, Ellie Jones, Josef Bruce, and Gabby Bruce; grandson, Caleb Jones; sisters, Serena Edwards and husband, Barker and Tracy Combs.
