Connie H. Durham

GARNER – Connie H. Durham, 66, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2020. She was born in Wake County on April 8, 1954 to the late Marvin and Frances Jones Holleman. Having a strong-will and a fiercely independent nature, Connie liked things her way. Whether in her flower beds gardening, relaxing at the beach, or shopping with her daughter, she loved life and lived to the fullest. Affectionately known as “Fossil,” Connie was known by all for her big heart, and she shared it with her family, friends, and her community, including lunches with her Southern Trace Girls. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel E. Durham, Jr.; and a brother, Walter J. Holleman. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Danielle D. Kelly and husband, Thomas of Smithfield; son, Danny Durham, III and wife, Jennifer of Garner; granddaughter, Saylor Durham; sister-in-law, Sandra Holleman of Raleigh; niece and nephew, Jacquie Holleman, Alan Holleman and wife, Dena; great-nieces, Bailee Holleman and Kamryn Holleman; a host of extended family and friends; her canine companions, Bentley and Drake; and her grand-dogs, Allie and Brody. Connie’s urn will lie in state at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Garner from 4:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 for those who would like to pay their respects and sign the guest register. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh. Those planning to attend are respectfully requested to wear a face mask or covering and observe common social distancing procedures.
