Connie Joyce Hedgepeth

WILLOW SPRING – Connie Joyce Hedgepeth, 87, passed away on Thursday at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born in Wake County, she was the daughter of the late Kermit Dupree and Lillian Smith Dupree.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, June 17th in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Burial will follow the service at Dupree Family Cemetery, Willow Spring. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 11:45 at the funeral home prior to the service.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 72 years, Elvin Hedgepeth; son, Nicky Hedgepeth (Vickie) of Willow Spring; daughters, Connie Fontanini of Greeneville, TN, Trudy Smith (Mark) of Willow Spring, Joy Capps of Willow Spring, and Misty Lewis (Keith) of Willow Spring; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joyce’s memory to the SECU Hospice House of Smithfield or to Kennebec Baptist Church, 9808 Kennebec Church Road, Angier, NC 27501.
