Curtisteen Smith Strickland

GARNER – Curtisteen Smith Strickland, 82, of Bayleigh Ct., Garner, died Wednesday, December 6, 2017. She was a longtime member of Ernest Myatt Presbyterian Church and gladly served in various capacities. Curtisteen was a strong Christian and truly loved God, her family, church and friends. She retired from Branch Banking & Trust Company after 33 years of service and then worked part-time for 13 years with the National Agriculture Statistics Service. A funeral service will be held 12:30 pm Monday, December 11th at Ernest Myatt Presbyterian Church with Dr. John Langham officiating. The family will receive friends in the church’s common area from 11:00 -12:30 prior to the service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger W. Strickland, Jr. and sister, Morley Shirk. She and Roger were blessed with 46 years of marriage and 2 children. Survivors include her daughter, Cathy S. Sheppard; son, Richard W. Strickland and wife, Jo Anna; granddaughters, Ashley Stancil and husband, Bryan and Haley Strickland; nephew, Harold L. Shepherd and wife, Debbie; nieces, Sharron Sally and Frances Griffin. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions be made in Curtisteen’s memory to the Ernest Myatt Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 4926 Fayetteville Rd., Raleigh, NC 27603.
