Dale Hendricks Batts

CLAYTON- Dale Hendricks Batts, 68, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024. Dale was a native of Wake County, North Carolina, and was the daughter of Mack Plummer Hendricks Sr and Martha Honeycutt Hendricks. Dale was a loving wife, mother, and devoted grandmother to her three wonderful grandchildren.

Dale is preceded in death by her husband, Steven Lewis Batts; father, Mack Plummer Hendricks Sr; mother, Martha Honeycutt Hendricks; brothers, Mack P. Hendricks Jr. and Ronnie Hendricks; mother-in law, Frances Lundy Batts; sister-in laws, Susan Batts and Lynda Kay Hendricks; nephews, Daniel Hendricks and Ron Hendricks.

Dale lived a very full and content life. She met and married her best friend Steven and they were together until his passing in September 2023. Dale loved life and her favorite place to be was at the beach with the sun on her skin, wind in her hair, and toes in the sand. Her favorite pair of shoes were a set of flip flops. They welcomed their only child Cameron in December of 1987. The family of three could always be seen taking vacations and making memories together, especially at Oak Island which was a fond place for the family to visit. Cameron met and married Ben in 2015. He was immediately welcomed into the family, and he and Cameron gave Dale three amazing grandchildren to love and adore, Leighton, Lucas, and Laine Gray. Dale loved to walk on the beach with each of them, showing them the same magic of the ocean that she loved.

Dale is survived by her loving daughter, Cameron Elizabeth Batts Cooper and son-in law, Benjamin Cooper; her three grandchildren, Leighton Cooper, Lucas Cooper, and Laine Gray Cooper; Father-in-law, Jasper Batts; niece, Ashley Emery; sister-in-law, Brenda Hendricks; nephew, Brad Hendricks (Rhonda); Ron's wife, Becky Hendricks; great niece, Brooke Hendricks Upsall (John) and Katie Hendricks; great nephews, Noah Emery, Evan Hendricks, Dylan Hendricks and Jeremy Hendricks (Abbi), Alex Edward (Allison); great great nephew, Walker Edwards; cousins, Stewart Woodard (Tommy), Marsha Timberlake (David), Angela Rogers (Terry) Connie Horton, (Milton), Vickie Mullen, Marty Hall and Donnie Lundy (Sandy)

She is also survived by her special friends, Carol Abram and Brenda Capps as well as a long time family friend, Lisa Lee.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 4, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529. Burial will follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, 4301 Louisburg Road, Raleigh NC 27604. The family will receive friends for a period of visitation from 12:00 to 12:45 pm, on Saturday, January 4, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529.

In addition to flowers, memorial donations are welcome and may be made out to St. Jude Children Research Hospital.
