Dale Massey

GARNER, NC – William Dale Massey, 75, departed this earth October 16, 2021. Dale was born September 05, 1946, to the late James Furman and Mary Ethel Blackwood Massey. A native of Purvis, Mississippi, Dale received the first PhD in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Southern Mississippi. He had a long career with Union Carbide and Dow Chemical. Following his retirement in 2003, he worked ten more years as an independent consultant. Dale loved spending time with his family; he was married for almost 53 years, had three children and especially enjoyed being PaPa to his grandchildren. Dale also loved being outdoors whether hunting or just enjoying nature. Dale is survived by his wife, Pamela Canfield Massey; children: Jennifer Massey Jamison and husband, John; William Michael Massey and wife, Lauren; Shannon Massey Kimosh and husband, Pete; grandchildren: Reya and Ella Jamison, Allie and Will Massey; sister, Dianne Massey and brother, Don Massey. In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Massey, and a sister-in-law, Sue. A visitation will be held Saturday, October 30, 2021, from 1-4pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529. The family requests that masks be worn by those attending.
