Damian Joel Smith

Bunnlevel- Damian Joel Smith, 39, passed away on Tuesday after a brief illness. He was born in Johnston County. Damian loved to play the drums. He even played the drums in a band called “The Gray”. During his time as a student at NC State University he played in front of President Bill Clinton. He was an expert plumber and he had most recently worked for the last five years in the maintenance department for NC State University. A celebration of life service will be held for Damian at a later date. Damian is survived by his mother, Abigail Hall and spouse, Carlyle Thompson of Bunnlevel; father, Tim Smith of Lillington; sister, Hannah Helsher and husband, Corey of Garner; brother, Robert Smith of Lillington; nephews, Talyn and Nolan Helsher; niece, Sadie Smith. Damian is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lorenia Hamilton, Howard Hall, Bobby and Utha Smith; niece, Edynn Helsher.
