Dan Durwood Giles, Sr.

GARNER– Dan Durwood Giles Sr., 69, passed away on Sunday at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Dan was born in Portsmouth, Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Susan of Garner, NC; son, Dan D. Giles II; mother, Hazel Strother Ladd; sisters, Donna McGhee and husband, Danny, Linda Hernandez and husband, Bulmaro. Dan was predeceased in death by his father, Sherman Giles Sr.; brothers, Sherman Giles Jr. and Allen Giles. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 8 at 1:00 pm at Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SECU Hospice House, 426 Hospital Rd. Smithfield, NC 27577 or to the charity of your choice.
