Dana Lynn Houston

CHARLOTTE - Dana Lynn Houston, born July 11, 1974, passed away May 25, 2011 at Mercy Hospital, Charlotte, NC following a courageous battle with diabetes. Dana was preceded in death by her parents Charles (Sam) and Elaine Price Houston. Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2011 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner, NC. Funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home. A private burial will be held. The family will meet at other times at the home of George, Jr. and Dolores Price, 1621 Quail Grove Ct., Willow Springs, NC 27592.Dana was a graduate of Garner Senior High School and Mitchells Hairstyling Academy. She was a Paul Mitchell Trained Artistic Director with Super Cuts. Dana was highly regarded as one of the best and most requested in her profession. She traveled the US and Canada sharing her skills, knowledge and the teaching of her profession. She was the recipient of many awards and honors from her company.Left to cherish her memory is her partner and best friend, Melissa Beaver, Aunt and Bonus Mom, Bonnie Holloman (Ed), Aunts and Uncles, Joan Sills (Gale), Mike Price (Zandra), George Price, Jr. (Dolores); Cathy Price (Kenny Horton), her cousins and extended family. Her beloved animals, Gus, Max, Carly, Bailey, Sam and Bella. Melissa and family wish to thank Dr. Kristin Strawhun, and Dr. Strawhuns ICU critical care team for their care, compassion and strength. A special thanks to ICU critical care nurse, Melissa Stoner. To the many other Mercy Hospital staff who took the time to stop by her room during her long stay just to say hello and brighten her day, thank you.
